English 9B - We read Chapter 3 and 4 in Animal Farm. There will be a quiz over these chapters tomorrow.

English 9A - today we completed notes over parts of speech. We also discussed sensory details in writing and you turned in your setting writing assignment. Tomorrow there will be a quiz over the stories and terms we covered in Collection 1 (The Most Dangerous Game and A Christmas Memory), Unit 2 Vocabulary and parts of speech.

Gothic Lit - today we worked with Stave 4 and character posters.

Hey Gothic Lit!

Tonight at 7 ABC family is showing Mickey's Christmas Carol. This version is one of my favorites! When I was in the 3rd grade, I stayed up all night long reading the novel version once that I bought at a garage sale and fell in love.

For 3 points extra credit, be the first person to answer one of the following questions (if someone has answered A, feel free to answer B and so on!)

A - Which character in this version does not utter a single word?
B - How is the scene with Belle, Scrooge's fiance, different in this movie version?
C - When Mickey Mouse starred in this movie, how long had it been since he was in the starring role of a movie?

English 9A - Today we did presentations over parts of speech. I passed out notes that you will be working with tomorrow. Extra copies of this are in the folder by the door. We also read "A Christmas Memory" by Truman Capote and filled out a sensory details chart. There are a few lit terms you need to put in your notebook, please see one of your classmates. Remember vocab unit 2 is due tomorrow.

English 9B - Today we started reading Chapters 1 and 2 in Animal Farm. You need to pick up study guides for these chapters as well as a character chart. We have a quiz over 1 and 2 tomorrow.

GOthic literature - Today we presented our setting posters and discussed settings in gothic literature. Please read Stave 3 and complete the study guide questions for tomorrow. You will also need to pick up a Stave 3 vocab sheet, which I took for a grade.

Movie Night!

December 7th is Movie Night! Come to the lecture hall at 7 with friends and snacks to watch The Grinch and play Grinch Bingo!

English 9A- today we went over Unit 2 vocabulary words. You can find the powerpoint on another post. Your workbook and flashcards are due Wednesday. We also started on parts of speech posters. You will be put in a group when you return.

English 9B - Today we went over some information covered on the Stalin videos. Please get this information from someone in your class. We also did a vocabulary sheet for Animal Farm. You can pick this up in the absent folder. These are due tomorrow.

Gothic Literature- today we drew setting posters for A Christmas Carol & went over Stave 2 study guide questions. Remember to keep these in a safe place so I can give you a grade for them!

Eng 9A - We finished reading the Most Dangerous Game and went over questions from pg. 36. You will need to show me these when you return. We also worked on Vocab Unit 1 and took a mock vocabulary quiz. We also filled out story maps for MDG and filled our binder with some other materials you will need to get from me.

Eng 9B - We watched a very important video today over Stalin and Russia. Please get your materials from the folder.

Gothic Lit - Today we did vocab for Stave 2 and you need to read Stave 2 and complete the study guide for Monday.

Eng 9A- Today we got our lit books and our vocab books. We worked on vocab unit 1 for ten minutes. Then we read "The Most Dangerous Game" up to page 25. You will need to get the lit terms from someone in your class.

Eng 9B - Today we learned about fables. Please get the notes from someone in your class. We did a partner activity that discussed personification and different fables that we will continue tomorrow.

Gothic Literature - today we watched a THRILLING (maybe I'm pushing it) video on Charles Dickens and talked about how the authors life affects the writing he or she does. We then began working on Stave 1 vocabulary, which is due tomorrow.
